What do you believe is the best type of collar? I have a German shepherd rescue and she gets nervous when some dogs walk near her.

Hi Eric, I mostly prefer a comfortable, well fitting harness to collars for leash walks. I do not use any type of “training” collar like a choke or prong in my work. If you need extra equipment to control a dog in exciting or challenging situations, my advise usually is to take a big step back and do a lot more training with that dog first until the dog can offer calmer responses easily on his or her own. There are many brands out there. I like Comfort Flex, Perfect Fit, Hurrta, Halti Harness, and Xtra Dog Fleece lined collars and harnesses.
